We've lived the moment we now plan for others.

We got married in Costa Rica ourselves — with more than 50 guests — so we know first-hand what destination couples and group organizers are really looking for.

We learned what matters when you bring the people you love to a place you love: the right setting, the right local partners, and someone who handles the moving parts so the moment feels effortless. That experience became Monumental CR — a team built to plan the kind of weddings, retreats, and celebrations people talk about for decades.

Today we help international clients plan with confidence, acting as the trusted bridge between you and the right people, places, and experiences across the Gold Coast.

The Founder

Tony Darrick Baker

Tony and his family live in Dallas, Texas and Brasilito, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. They travel back and forth on a regular basis. He founded Monumental CR for groups of 15 and up — weddings, corporate retreats, seminars, and leadership offsites.

He planned his own Gold Coast wedding. He also knows what a business group needs from a week away. The right villa. A tight arrival plan. Days that work for a leadership team, not only for a couple.

Monumental CR is more than weddings. It is airport pickup to beachfront dinner. It is villas, hotels, fishing, sailing, and the days in between. Tony built that plan from years on the ground and the people he knows here.

How do our guests get there?

Most guests fly into Liberia International Airport (LIR). Direct flights from many US and Canadian hubs land at LIR. Drive time from LIR is about 45 to 75 minutes to Tamarindo, Flamingo, Potrero, Brasilito, and Playa Conchal. We arrange private drivers from arrival to the villa or hotel.
